Seifū Yohei IV (1871–1951) was forced to sell the family kiln after World War II and shut down the studio. His son, Seifū Yohei V, was eventually able to succeed to studio head and make tools for sencha, steeped leaf tea, after first working as a ceramic painter in a Kyoto factory and later making pots for bonsai, or miniaturized trees.
