In this sculpture Robert Morris uses a large piece of industrial felt material, curling and affixing two corners to create a neat geometric form from the soft, heavy material. Untitled is part of a larger series of sculptures the artist created in the spirit of the “anti-form”—works that depart from the rigid, hard edges of Minimalist sculpture. Morris noted that “Felt has anatomical associations, it relates to the body—it’s skinlike.”
