The child in orange has a bun above his ear, while the rest of his head is clean-shaven, like the other children’s.

Description

The four-character mark on the base of this vase indicates that it was made in Jingdezhen and then sent to Beijing to be decorated in the imperial workshops by painters who were trained in using Western perspective and shading.
