This tapestry is one from a series of eight that depicts the tragic love story of Dido and Aeneas which were gifted to the museum for display in the armor court.

Description

Venus, seen here dressed as a huntress, advises her son, Aeneas, to visit Dido, queen of Carthage. Venus wants her son to stop wandering and marry the queen.
