Kids and Families
Family Play Days
Play Days at the CMA are free opportunities for families to be creative, be curious, and connect through art together. Events include music, storybook readings, games, and art making for the whole family. Each event has a theme that relates to an exhibition, artist, or artworks in the CMA's collection.
My Very First Art Class
Young children and their favorite grown-up are introduced to art, the museum, and verbal and visual literacy in this playful program. Each class features exploration in the classroom, a gallery visit, and art making. Wear your paint clothes! New topics each class.
Studio Programs for Children
Join experienced practicing artists in our studios to play with ideas and materials while developing skills and techniques. For fall/winter 2022 and winter/spring 2023, studio classes and workshops for children and families are taking place exclusively at the CMA’s Community Arts Center (CAC) located at 2937 West 25th Street in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood. The CAC’s bright, vibrant studio spaces are sure to get your child’s creative energies flowing!
Engage and Create
Explore your curiosity and practice your creative thinking skills with fun, playful activities and challenges inspired by works of art from the CMA’s collection. All experiences can be enjoyed from home.
Art-Making Experiences for All Ages
The CAC houses the community arts staff and education outreach program. Visitors to the center may view Parade the Circle: Celebrating 30 Years of Art and Community and enjoy independent art making and other programming.
