Distance Learning for adult audiences at the Cleveland Museum of Art allows lifelong learners to connect with the CMA and enrich their studies of history and the visual arts through our collection of art and artifacts from around the world.
Annual Lecture Series
Supported by our generous sponsors, the Cleveland Museum of Art hosts a variety of annual lectures that feature a range of topics.
Art in the Afternoon
In partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, the CMA provides specialized gallery tours for those with memory loss and one caregiver designed to lift the spirit, engage the mind, and provide a relaxing and enjoyable social experience. Specially trained docents are sensitive to the interests and abilities of all visitors and encourage conversation, sharing memories, and art enjoyment.
Art to Go
Bring a one-of-a-kind learning experience and authentic artworks from around the globe and across time into your school, library, community center, or educational space. Art to Go participants use multiple senses as they practice close observation and learn how to carefully handle art objects and artifacts from the museum’s education art collection.
Artist in the Atrium
Every third Saturday of each month, stop by the Ames Family Atrium between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. to get a firsthand look at the art-making process. Each session will provide you the opportunity to engage and interact with a different Northeast Ohio maker during pop-up demonstrations and activities. See their work unfold and learn how artists create.
Come to the CMA for a quick bite of art history. Every first Tuesday of each month, join curators, conservators, scholars, and other museum staff for 30-minute talks on objects currently on display in the museum galleries.
Compiled here are a collection of our past programs. Please enjoy these recordings.
