Description

In this image, a group of people waits in line to see the 2012 movie Contagion. The central figure is scaled slightly larger than her surroundings and appears isolated and withdrawn. This work aligns with Eisenman’s ongoing consideration of the ways individuals inhabit and interact in public space. Using fine lines of varying pattern and density rendered with a sharp etching needle, the artist further distinguishes the otherwise closely stacked figures. Throughout the proofs seen nearby, Eisenman experiments with color, form, and bold outlines to reconsider and fully develop the image seen in this final print.
