Description
Dorothy Dehner was among the few women who were part of the New York School, credited with inventing Abstract Expressionism. She made this work after studying at Atelier 17, a printmaking studio where female artists were encouraged to experiment with materials and technique. Dehner wiped, brushed, and dribbled colored ink onto a printing plate, recording the process of creating this monotype, a unique print.
