Qi Baishi excelled in simple, witty ink sketches of everyday subjects.
This portrait of ink artist Qi Baishi (1864–1957) is from Master Series, featuring leading men of culture in modern China. All of them came under attack during the Cultural Revolution. The award-winning prints combine photography with digital design and oil-based ink woodcut techniques.
