Rao Shiv Singh’s granddaughter was married to Maharaja Pratap Singh of Jaipur (CMA 2011.207).
The bust portrait of a Rajput ruler shows him wearing a blue turban with floral pattern and white garment. A costly pearl and ruby earring suggests his financial affluence. The artist has exhibited his skill in the sensitive rendering of the figure’s eyebrow and mustache.
