The sun has a human face and gazes on the scene.
The painting is divided into two registers. The top register depicts a royal lady being attended by maidservants outside a bed chamber. The lower register depicts a noble walking with his consort, holding her tight and offering her a garland. The surrounding women dance and play music with an exuberance echoed in the vegetation.
