Description

Designer, interior decorator, entrepreneur, and teacher, Rorimer joined with three of his students at the Cleveland School (now Institute) of Art to found the Rokesley Shop during the early 1900s. Specializing in fine, handcrafted objects, the firm produced metalwork of various kinds, as well as enamelwork. This tea and coffee service, made for the personal use of Rorimer’s family, was likely designed entirely by him. Gift in memory of Louis Rorimer from his daughter, Louise Rorimer, and his granddaughter, Edie Soeiro 1991.314.1–6
