Leather Panel

c. 1350–1400

Tooled leather

Overall: 15.9 x 7.7 cm (6 1/4 x 3 1/16 in.)

Gift of Ruth Blumka in memory of Leopold Blumka 1973.223

This leather panel has been tooled into deep relief. It probably decorated a wooden casket. The two scenes represented are, above, Christ Appearing to Mary Magdalene after his resurrection--also known as the Noli me tangere ("Do not touch me")--and, below, Christ's Entry into Jerusalem.
