Color woodblock print
Overall: 25.4 x 38.4 cm (10 x 15 1/8 in.)
Bequest of James Parmelee 1940.1002
Hokusai probably composed this print as a complement to Mt. Fuji in Clear Weather (see 1930.189) and to illustrate the mountain’s majesty in different weather. Here, a sudden shower covers most of the mountain’s base and slope with dark clouds.
