Gold
Diameter: 2.3 cm (7/8 in.); Overall: 1.3 cm (1/2 in.)
Gift of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Wade 1916.658
An exact duplicate of this ring, apart from the inscription, is in the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh.
The shank or band of this ring is crescent-shaped and circular in section; its upper sections are covered with heavy gold wire. The oval bezel on a swivel, the metal that holds the stone, takes the form of a scaraboid, or seal amulet in the shape of a scarab. Its sides are encircled by a double row of granules and are surmounted by a delicately molded frog in the round. The underside is incised with a nefer-sign to the right and a wedjat-eye.
