L-shaped eyes and flame-like eyebrows identify this reptile as the mythical or supernatural Olmec Dragon, so-called because it often combines the traits of many different creatures. Here, it assumes the form of an iguana whose short, cleft tail may have been broken and polished smooth in antiquity.
