The Cleveland Museum of Art's Japanese and Korean art collection is one of the most distinguished collections in the West. The museum possesses important examples in metalwork, lacquer, sculpture, painting, and ceramics from both Japan and Korea. The collections were initially formed at the time of the museum's inception, developed significantly following World War II and the Korean War, and continue to grow.
