Winter Session: Eight Saturdays, January 12–March 2, 2019, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 1:30–3:30 p.m.

Hands-on, minds-on learning! These studio classes allow young artists ages 2 to 18 to explore the museum’s collections while discovering their own creativity. 10:00–10:45 a.m.
My Very First Art Class (Ages 2–4) Young children and their favorite grown-up are introduced to art, the museum, and verbal and visual literacy in this playful program.

10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
1, 2, 3, What Do You See? (Ages 4–5) Learn to look at the world like an artist. Explore line, shape, color, and more through drawing, painting, collaging, and building. We’ll see and make something new each week.

Museum Arts-capade (Ages 6–8) Explore the galleries and be inspired by colors, patterns, shapes, and textures, then try your hand at still-life painting, marbling, collaging, printmaking, and constructing papier-mâché and kinetic creations.

Creative Challenges (Ages 9–13) Develop your creativity and show off your personal style as we complete weekly art challenges, from finding imaginative ways to use ordinary objects to trying new techniques and incorporating unusual materials. We don’t know what you’ll make, but we know it will be fun!

1:30–3:30 p.m.
Graphic Novel / Art Book Studio (Ages 14–18) Learn the creative process of writing, laying out, and illustrating (using pen and ink, paint, or collage) your own 16-page graphic novel or art book. All skill levels.

Fees and Registration 
$210, CMA members $180. Registration is first-come, first-served. Register through the ticket center at 216-421-7350. There is a $15 late fee per order beginning one week before class starts.

Cancellation Policy Classes with insufficient registration will be combined or canceled one week before class begins, with enrollees notified and fully refunded. Refunds are issued any time before the beginning of the session. After the first class, consideration is given on an individual basis.

Play like an Artist (Ages 4–5) Learn to look at the world like an artist. Explore line, shape, color, and more through drawing, painting, collaging, and building. We’ll see and make something new each week.

Curiosity Lab (Ages 6–8) Explore the galleries to discover art from near and far and be inspired to create colorful landscapes, beaded sculptures, pattern-filled screen prints, decorative and functional fabric bags, shiny coins, and fun, imaginative 3-D scenes!

1:30–3:30 p.m.
Portfolio Prep (Ages 14–18) Eight Saturdays/March 23–May 11. This course is perfect for teens looking to try out different media or build an impressive portfolio for college admission. Drawing, printmaking, painting, and more! All skill levels welcome. Instructor: Cliff Novak. $210, CMA members $180.
