Radha’s energy in the painting as a royal guard about to strike Krishna for his delinquencies brings effervescence to this otherwise serene and tranquil composition. The gopis appear to be perturbed by the way the situation has unfolded, as one of them even raises her hand toward Radha, asking her to regain her composure.
